Cyprus, Paphos, Tala Village 2

Traffic drives on the left hand side, as in the UK.

It is mandatory to use the front seatbelts.

Using a mobile phone whilst driving is strictly prohibited.

Distances and road speeds are shown in kilometres and kilometres per hour.

Speed limits range from 50km/h in towns up to 100km/h on dual carriageways.

Be aware that there is a minimum speed on the motorway of 65 km/hr and maximum 100 km/hr

Beware of speed traps – there are a large number of police handheld radar devices in operation, especially on the motorway.

Drink driving laws are as strict as in the UK with 39mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

Municipal parking is available in all Town Centres. Charges are not expensive - 40 to 50 cents. Some streets have parking meters.

As a general rule, petrol stations open at 6am Monday to Saturday and close at 7pm during weekdays and 3pm on Saturdays. Most petrol stations are closed on Sundays but are equipped with easy to use petrol vending machines that accept cash & credit cards.

If you are going into the countryside make sure you have enough petrol for the journey as there are not so many petrol stations outside of the towns and tourist areas.

You are required to carry your driving licence at all times and will be asked to show it if you are stopped
